FAQs
1. I am interested in having my work published, perhaps by Three Muses Press. Where do I start? For publication with Three Muses, please review our submission guidelines. For publication in general, we suggest picking up a current edition of Writer’s Market®, an annually published, comprehensive resource for writers. This wonderful guidebook is available in most bookstores and libraries and lists contact information and submission guidelines for most literary publications and publishing houses.
2. Is Three Muses part of a larger organization? Yes. Three Muses Press is an imprint of Ink & Paper Group. Our sister imprints are: Bowler Hat Comics (graphic novels, illustrated novels) and Dame Rocket Press (fiction, nonfiction, and gift books featuring the pioneering spirit).
3. Does your press publish poetry? Yes, however we are not a dedicated poetry press. For solicited manuscripts, we will consider poetry within the context of a small-format art book.
4. Are you interested in publishing biographies? We are intrigued by life stories, but we publish them in the form of fiction, creative nonfiction, and memoir rather than biographical works.
5. Does Three Muses host any literary contests? Not at this time but perhaps in the future. We welcome your input on the matter.
6. For information of the ordering and distribution of Three Muses Press books, please contact publisher Linda M. Meyer.
7. What style of artwork are you seeking for your small-format art and gift books? What appeals to you in art-related submissions? We are not limiting our search to any given genre. As with authors, Three Muses is pleased to support emerging artists. Our parameters for art submissions echo those for literature. We are looking for strong voices and diverse themes, works that relate to real lives—in cultures both familiar and unfamiliar—promote reflection, add beauty to our existence, and expand our horizons.
8. What format do you prefer for artwork submissions? Please submit electronic files in JPEG format. If you prefer, hard copies may be mailed to us, but such copies will not be returned. Please do not send original artwork.
